The year is beginning with a number of interesting musical adventures - working with my old friend Frank van der Kooij on a new Dutch music project, and also with saxophonist Tony "Rico" Richardson on a new performing group to perform more locally. So, lots of writing, learning and rehearsing....

I have just finished the sound design for Violafilms new film: 'Magwitch'. This is a prequel to Dicken's Great Expectations and is directed by Sam Supple. It will be premiered at Rochester Cathedral on Feb 11th, when David Lean's 1946 film adaptation of the book will also be screened.

As well as this, this Spring sees the second phase of the Cross Currents project commissioned by South East Folk Arts Network. This multi-cultural collaborative music project sees me working with a mixture of professional and amateur musicians towards the creation of a new work, to be performed at The Hawth Theatre, in Crawley, on the 2nd March. I worked with the professional element of the project over the summer of last year and we performed to enthusiastic audiences at Crawley's Folk Festival, the International Mela and the Irish Festival, and now we are looking forward to joining up with other players from the area to work on a larger piece for the performance in March.
